ArcView tools from various locations

The GIS department of Seminole County, Florida has a good page with some useful and powerful AV 3.x extensions; some good image data manipulation tools, expanded CAD tools, a graphic rotator.

Neat site- Jenness Enterprises in Flagstaff AZ has a large collection of extensions, many technically oriented to geospatial statistical analysis. Also some more general uses extensions, including one that turns PolyLineZ files into regular shape files, which I find to be invaluable when working with imported CAD files.

GeoComm.com has a site with a wide range of valuable ArcView extensions and scripts for download, as well as pointers to other sites with ArcView resources.

• Manifold GIS - I don't have experience with this one, it was recommended to me by Boris Denin. Apparently a high quality, very low cost package capable of handling ArcView and MapInfo formatted data directly. The company also features a webpage with some free data in Manifold's format.

  • GeoTools is an open source, Java based mapping toolkit.
  • Technically not a server, iMapper is an ArcView extension that allows a user with ArcView maps to display their maps and data over the web in a simple manner.
  • jShape is a Java based GIS tool.
  • Mapserver from the University of Minnesota is an open source development environment for spatially-enabling web sites, supporting shapefiles and several basic raster formats.
